Basketball Recap: Sam Stotler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southern Fulton over Berkeley Springs

Southern Fulton was the 44-32 winner over Berkeley Springs when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Southern Fulton Indians took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berkeley Springs Indians. While losing is never fun, Southern Fulton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 539th in Pennsylvania, while Berkeley Springs is ranked 59th in West Virginia).

Several Indians players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Stotler, who posted 17 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Trentin Cain, who put up 15 points.

Southern Fulton's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Berkeley Springs, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern Fulton has already played their next match (against McConnellsburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Berkeley Springs has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Hampshire.
