Basketball Recap: Royse City Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Royse City lost to North Forney back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Royse City Bulldogs rang in the new year with a 70-59 victory over the North Forney Falcons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Despite the loss, North Forney still got an impressive performance from Zach Thompson, who went 12 of 17 en route to 31 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Thompson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Johnson, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Royse City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for North Forney, they dropped their record down to 13-12 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coincidentally, Royse City and North Forney will both be playing Longview the next time they take the court. North Forney will host Longview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Royse City will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on January 11th.
