Baseball Recap: Stanwood Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Stanwood nor Edmonds-Woodway made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Spartans won by a run and slipped past the Warriors 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in April.

Stanwood's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they moved to 16-7 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Stanwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edmonds-Woodway, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Shorewood at 10:00 a.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 2, the Stormrays 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
