Basketball Game Preview: Credo Gryphon vs. Healdsburg Greyhounds

The Credo Gryphon will head out to square off against the Healdsburg Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Credo can't be too happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season away from home on Wednesday. They took a blow against College Prep, falling 71-23. The Gryphon have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Healdsburg took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Fort Bragg as they made off with a 64-43 win.

Credo better focus on containing Teague Jasper and Henry Smith as the pair were huge in Healdsburg's win. Jasper shot 50% from the field on his way to 18 points along with six boards and three steals, while Smith went 6-for-13 en route to 13 points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Vincenzo Loupy, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Credo was dealt a bruising 82-44 loss at the hands of Healdsburg when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can the Gryphon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
