Football Recap: Coffee Trojans vs. Columbia Tigers

Coffee was the 40-13 winner over Columbia when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans fell 20-14 to the Tigers on Friday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Although Coffee took the loss, they still got scores from Tresean Smith and Kentavius Debruce.

Even if they lost, Coffee's defense still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jasiah McRae and Greyson Lott, who racked up four sacks between them.

Columbia found their leader in sophomore Kameron Mills, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Coffee now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Columbia, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

After both having extra time off, Coffee and Gadsden County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Columbia, they will challenge Hillsborough at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
