Preview: Caldera vs. West Albany Bulldogs
The Caldera will head out on the road to face off against the West Albany Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Caldera is ranked 35th, while West Albany is ranked 29th).
After a string of three wins, Caldera's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. The match between Caldera and Summit wasn't particularly close, with Caldera falling 21-7.
Meanwhile, even though McKay scored an imposing 31 points on Friday, West Albany still came out on top. West Albany took down McKay 48-31. The victory was just what West Albany needed coming off of a 49-28 loss in their prior matchup.
West Albany's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarron Huebner, who rushed for 276 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Hews, who threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was West Albany's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Pena Moors and his three sacks.
Summit's win bumped their season record to 5-4 while Caldera's defeat dropped theirs to 6-3.
