Basketball Recap: Redlands East Valley Takes a Loss

Redlands East Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 68-47 loss courtesy of the Alta Loma Braves. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.

When it comes to explaining why Redlands East Valley lost, don't look at Demaj Moore. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Moore's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amari Smith, who posted seven points.

Redlands East Valley now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Alta Loma, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redlands East Valley will venture away from home to take on Cajon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alta Loma, they will take on South Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Alta Loma has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three matches.
