Softball Recap: West Davidson Takes a Loss

West Davidson made up a huge gap compared to their last game against North Stanly, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Dragons fell just short of the Comets by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Hannah Rollins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, West Davidson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Michael, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

West Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for North Stanly, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

West Davidson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 victory against Providence Grove on the 17th. As for North Stanly, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-3 defeat against Union Academy on the 17th.
