Softball Recap: Carrboro Jaguars vs. J.F. Webb Warriors

After flying high against J.F. Webb on Tuesday, Carrboro came back down to earth. The Jaguars fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 14-2.

J.F. Webb's batters probably weren't too happy with Teagan Fichter, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (she gave up three walks). Fichter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single hit in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Carrboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Lackland, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Carrboro's record now sits at 11-6. As for J.F. Webb, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
