Basketball Recap: Martay Stiffarm-Rosette Key Part of Team Effort in Bears Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Box Elder had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They secured a 43-39 W over the Hays-Lodge Pole Thunder Birds. This was a revenge game for the Bears: when they faced off against the Thunder Birds back in January, they had to take a 63-38 loss.

Box Elder got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Martay Stiffarm-Rosette out in front who posted 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stiffarm-Rosette has scored at least a third of Box Elder's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shareece Raining Bird, who scored 13 points.

The win made it two in a row for Box Elder and bumps their season record up to 7-13. As for Hays-Lodge Pole, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Box Elder didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-42 defeat against Big Sandy on the 22nd. Hays-Lodge Pole does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
