Bishop Gorman hasn't had much luck against Shadow Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Gaels are taking a road trip to take on the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Bishop Gorman's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Foothill 2-0. The Gaels haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Foothill's batters probably weren't too happy with Makamae Eugenio, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up two walks). Eugenio has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Tiffany Gonzales was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Gwen Thewes also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge posted their closest victory since March 4th on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Mission Viejo.
Shadow Ridge let Rosely Hensley-Mokiao and Melia Aionaaka run wild. Hensley-Mokiao went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Aionaaka went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Devaeh Crawford was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Shadow Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Bishop Gorman's record is now 5-7-2. As for Shadow Ridge, their record now sits at 8-3.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Gorman hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Shadow Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .366. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bishop Gorman might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Shadow Ridge in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Gaels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
