Football Game Preview: Lennox Orioles vs. Tri-Valley Mustangs

The Lennox Orioles will take on the Tri-Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lennox knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Tri-Valley likes a good challenge.

Lennox is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Dell Rapids, who was ranked 11th at the time (Lennox was ranked fifth). The Orioles put the hurt on the Quarriers with a sharp 34-14 victory on Thursday. Considering the Orioles have won six contests by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley hadn't done well against Canton recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Mustangs came out on top against the C-Hawks by a score of 33-23. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Lennox's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average over those games. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Everything came up roses for Lennox against Tri-Valley when the teams last played last Friday, as the squad secured a 41-0 victory. Will the Orioles repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
