Baseball Recap: South Central Wins Going Away Against Michigan City

South Central got themselves on the board against Michigan City on Monday, but Michigan City never followed suit. They blew past the Wolves 12-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Satellites considering their two-run performance the game before.

South Central got a great performance from Colton Elkins as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Elkins also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Satellites are 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-11 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Nolan Jones was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for South Central: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Taye Falls was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

South Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

South Central's record is now 6-12. As for Michigan City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Central will challenge Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Satellites are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Michigan City, they will face off against Merrillville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: the Pirates will have lost seven straight heading into Tuesday's contest.
