Baseball Recap: Granite City Comes Up Short

Granite City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 7-2 to the O'Fallon Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Granite City saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zaiden Kelley, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Brenden Hard also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Granite City's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for O'Fallon, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granite City will venture away from home to challenge Quincy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for O'Fallon, they will head out to face off against Mascoutah at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.8, the Indians 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
