Baseball Recap: Portland Takes a Loss

Portland lost against Coginchaug Regional back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Highlanders fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 3-2.

Portland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Angersola, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Portland dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Coginchaug Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

Coming up, Portland will head out to face off against Old Saybrook at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Coginchaug Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hale Ray at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
