Softball Game Preview: Dodson Panthers vs. Union Parish Farmers

The Dodson Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Union Parish Farmers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

It was a proper cat-fight when Dodson duked it out with Calvin on Thursday. The Panthers came up short against the Cougars, falling 16-1. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Union Parish and Downsville, and Downsville kept the tradition alive. The Farmers lost 16-0 to the Demons on Tuesday. The Farmers have struggled against the Demons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Union Parish's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Dodson, their loss dropped their record down to 13-16.

Dodson took their victory against Union Parish in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 17-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
