Baseball Recap: Highlands Ranch Takes a Loss

Highlands Ranch lost against Douglas County back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Falcons fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 7-6. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Thomas Healy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Cody Dane was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Highlands Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Douglas County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.

Coincidentally, Highlands Ranch and Douglas County will both be playing Castle View the next time they take the field. The Huskies will host the Sabercats at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Falcons will head out to face them at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
