Basketball Recap: Liberty Red Devils vs. High Point Academy Grizzlies
Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 90-52 loss at the hands of the High Point Academy Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 24th).

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Smith, who made all 5 shots he took for 10 points and seven rebounds. Smith has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Kendrick Jackson was another key player, going 6 for 15 on his way to 16 points and seven boards.
Trapp Morman was a one-man wrecking crew for High Point Academy as he went 6 of 8 en route to 15 points along with eight assists and three steals. Those eight assists gave Morman a new career-high. CJ Rumage also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for High Point Academy, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-43 win against Brashier Middle College Charter on the 14th. High Point Academy has also already played their next matchup, a 76-52 victory against Landrum on the 14th.
