Softball Recap: Northview Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Northview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let the Baker Gators get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Chiefs have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jamison Gilman made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Gilman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Northview got a massive performance out of Avery Stuckey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Kylee Langham was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Northview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.

Northview is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Baker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.

Looking ahead, Northview will challenge Tate at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Baker, they will face off against Booker T. Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.76 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
