Basketball Game Preview: Bonner Springs Braves vs. Baldwin Bulldogs

Bonner Springs has won seven straight games at home, while Baldwin has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Bonner Springs Braves will welcome the Baldwin Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Bonner Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over Paola, taking the game 68-58. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Baldwin escaped with a win on Monday against Tonganoxie by the margin of a single free throw, 51-50. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th in Kansas, while the Chieftains are ranked 222nd in Kansas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bonner Springs better keep an eye on Cooper Carr. He was instrumental in Baldwin's win, going 5-for-11 on his way to 14 points along with six boards and five steals. Carr has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times he's played. Ethan Smasal was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Baldwin is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. Bonner Springs' victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
