Basketball Recap: Palmetto Ridge Find Success

Aubrey Rogers came into Friday's game looking for another win against Palmetto Ridge, but Amberly Rios wouldn't allow it. The Bears enjoyed a cozy 47-32 win over the Patriots on Friday with plenty of help from Rios, who went 8-for-17 en route to 21 points in addition to five boards and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Felicity Solorzano also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season. Solorzano is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Aubrey Rogers still got an impressive performance from Kiley Frearson, who shot 60% from the field on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Hamisch, who posted three points and nine boards.

The victory got Palmetto Ridge back to even at 2-2. As for Aubrey Rogers, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coincidentally, Palmetto Ridge and Aubrey Rogers will both be playing Naples the next time they take the court. The Patriots will head out to face the Golden Eagles at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bears will play them later in the day, at 1:40 p.m.
