Basketball Recap: Plainfield Central Takes a Loss

Plainfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Joliet West Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-25 on January 7th.

Joliet West found their leader in sophomore Gabrielle Gavin, who posted 19 points.

Plainfield Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Joliet West, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-17 record.

Plainfield Central and Joliet West could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Plainfield Central will take on Plainfield North at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 469 places (550 vs. 81). Meanwhile, Joliet West (ranked 426th) will meet Oswego East (ranked 138th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
