Basketball Game Preview: All Saints' Academy Saints vs. Bridge to Independence Wildcats

The All Saints' Academy Saints will challenge the Bridge to Independence Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

All Saints' Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop McLaughlin Catholic on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (59), the Saints still had to take the loss.

Despite the defeat, All Saints' Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jayden Watson posted 21 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Watson is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Landon Gall, who earned 11 points and five boards.

Even though they lost, All Saints' Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bridge to Independence had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past the Red Devils with an 88-82 victory.

Bridge to Independence is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for All Saints' Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-9.
