Basketball Recap: Newport Harbor's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Newport Harbor was the 77-62 winner over Fountain Valley when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Newport Harbor Sailors took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fountain Valley Barons on Friday.

Newport Harbor's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4. As for Fountain Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Newport Harbor and Fountain Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Newport Harbor (ranked 97th) will meet Live Oak (ranked 552nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fountain Valley will challenge Peninsula at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday up 601 places (142 vs. 743).
