The Normandy Invaders will square off against the Westlake Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Westlake took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Normandy, who comes in off a win.
Normandy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bay with a sharp 11-0 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Evan Lucas made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Normandy is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Lucas was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Normandy got a massive performance out of Andrew Sikon, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Sikon is becoming a predictor of the Invaders' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Reyes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-4 to St. Edward.
Westlake saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Nash, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Normandy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-13. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Westlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
