Baseball Recap: Bangor Takes a Loss

Bangor extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 10-10 in the process. They lost 11-4 to the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Lakers. The Vikings were not able to make up for their loss to the Lakers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Deondra Hankins was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Mann, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

As for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. Considering they have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

On Our Lady of the Lake Catholic's side, Bradyn Harper was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Harper has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Eli Mcloughlin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coincidentally, Bangor and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic will both be playing Galesburg-Augusta the next time they take the field. The Lakers will head out to face the Rams at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
