Basketball Recap: Abilene Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Abilene Eagles were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to the Legacy Leopards. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Leopards are ranked 729th).

Abilene's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-13. As for Legacy, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Abilene will venture away from home to challenge Wylie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wylie will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Abilene surely won't give up without a fight. As for Legacy, they will host Memorial at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
