Basketball Game Preview: Westinghouse Warriors vs. Clemente Wildcats

Westinghouse is a perfect 3-0 against Clemente since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Westinghouse Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Clemente Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Westinghouse will be strutting in after a victory while Clemente will be coming in after a loss.

If Westinghouse beats Clemente with 66 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Westinghouse beat Urban Prep-Bronzeville/Urban Prep-Englewood two weeks ago by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 66-53. The Warriors didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Meanwhile, Clemente was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Little Village, falling 78-58. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Phoenix are ranked 261st).

Clemente's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Westinghouse, their victory bumped their record up to 7-23.

Westinghouse came out on top in a nail-biter against Clemente when the teams last played back in January of 2019, sneaking past 65-62. Does Westinghouse have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clemente turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
