Preview: The Classical Academy Titans vs. Mesa Ridge Grizzlies
The Classical Academy and Mesa Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Classical Academy Titans will be playing at home against the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Classical Academy will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, The Classical Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-54 to Rampart.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Alaina Bonacquista, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Flowers, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Mesa Ridge posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 60-15 win over Sand Creek at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-9.
The Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Mesa Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
The Classical Academy won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2022, slipping by Mesa Ridge 47-46. Will The Classical Academy repeat their success, or does Mesa Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
