Baseball Game Preview: Bells Panthers vs. Gunter Tigers

Bells hasn't had much luck against Gunter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bells 3.9, Gunter 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

It was a proper cat-fight when Bells duked it out with Blue Ridge on Friday. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Tigers 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Gunter entered their tilt with Wilson on Saturday with 20 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 21. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wildcats an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won 24 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Gunter's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 29-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bells, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Bells might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Gunter in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
