Football Recap: John Marshall's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

John Marshall strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 34-26 victory over the Bellaire Big Reds. Given the Monarchs' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 36th in West Virginia, while the Big Reds are ranked 403rd in Ohio) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bellaire's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Raekwon Pettigrew, who picked up 213 receiving yards and three TDs, and Michael Dippel, who threw for 410 yards and three touchdowns. Pettigrew's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

John Marshall's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bellaire, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

John Marshall will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Parkersburg South at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Bellaire, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 18-15 victory against Cambridge on the 19th.
