Basketball Game Preview: Encinal Jets vs. Hayward Farmers

Having just played yesterday, the Encinal Jets will head out on the road to face off against the Hayward Farmers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Encinal turned things around against Tennyson on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 75-37 win over the Lancers. The Jets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Hayward hadn't done well against Mt. Eden recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Hayward came out on top against Mt. Eden by a score of 63-52.

Hayward is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points per game. As for Encinal, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Encinal came up short against Hayward when the teams last played on January 10th, falling 53-48. Can Encinal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
