Soccer Game Preview: Boerne vs. Smithson Valley

The Boerne Greyhounds will venture away from home to face off against the Smithson Valley Rangers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Boerne will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Boerne's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Veterans Memorial 4-0. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Smithson Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Alamo Heights on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rangers.

Boerne pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for Smithson Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Boerne might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Smithson Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2019. Can Boerne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
