Baseball Recap: Dixie Falls Short Against Ranked Desert Hills

Dixie faced Desert Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Flyers lost 15-5 to the Thunder. The Flyers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 11-0.

Dixie saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Hunt is becoming a predictor of the Flyers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Another was Weston Gilmore, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Desert Hills, their victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
