Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Ararat Eagles vs. Messalonskee Eagles

Mt. Ararat will take on Messalonskee at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Ararat will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Mt. Ararat is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Brunswick, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Mt. Ararat was ranked second). The Eagles had just enough and edged out the Dragons 3-2 on Wednesday. Those three runs were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, Messalonskee suffered their biggest defeat since June 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Mt. Blue, falling 8-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mt. Ararat's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Messalonskee, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
