Amarillo's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They blew past Coronado 21-0. The Sandies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Amree Anglin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Braylee Shuffield and Brianna Cloud did most of the damage at the plate: Shuffield scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Cloud went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Mykaela Samuels was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Amarillo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.

Meanwhile, Plainview lost 17-2 to Monterey on Saturday.

Plainview has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Plainview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Amarillo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .577. It's a different story for Plainview, though, as they've only averaged .351. Will they be able to contain Amarillo's hitters?
