Recap: St. Paul Lutheran Saints vs. Chillicothe Hornets
If the St. Paul Lutheran Saints were feeling good off their 53-30 takedown of the Orrick Bearcats last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Paul Lutheran suffered a tough 70-44 loss at the hands of Chillicothe on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, St. Paul Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Chillicothe is ranked 100th).
Chillicothe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaishon White, who scored 16 points. Sol'jier Allen was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with three steals.
St. Paul Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Chillicothe, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Paul Lutheran will challenge Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Grove has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Chillicothe, they will head out on the road to square off against Smithville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
