Jefferson hadn't done well against Benilde-St. Margaret recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Jaguars had just enough and edged out the Red Knights 4-2. The game was the first time the Jaguars have beaten the Red Knights on their field since April 20, 2021.

Brenden Lucas looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jefferson's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Feller, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ethan Agre was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-5 record.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will be playing in front of their home fans against Chaska at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Benilde-St. Margaret's, they are taking a road trip to face off against New Prague at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
