Football Recap: Haltom Skates Past Grand Prairie with Ease + How To Watch

Haltom had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 41-point drubbing they dealt Grand Prairie on Thursday. The Buffalos simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Gophers 61-20. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-13.

Vudrico Roberson produced another solid effort rushing for 262 yards and six TDs while picking up 9.0 yards per carry, and also catching one touchdown. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 13 rushing touchdowns on the season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Lewis, who rushed for 67 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Haltom was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 383 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Haltom didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keyan Parks and Demian Ramirez Lopez. Parks also made four total tackles, which is notable because Haltom is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 0-3 otherwise. Logan Lange was another major factor on D, forcing one fumble and making 12 total tackles.

When it comes to explaining why Grand Prairie lost, don't look at Xavier Clinton. Despite the final result, he rushed for 125 yards and one TD, and also caught one touchdown.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Grand Prairie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Haltom and Grand Prairie could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Buffalos will take on Martin at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th with a big rank disadvantage (385 vs. 145). Meanwhile, Grand Prairie (ranked 649th) will meet South Grand Prairie (ranked 126th) at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
