Softball Preview: Harker Heights Knights vs. Copperas Cove Bulldawgs        
        
		
            
 The Harker Heights Knights will head out on the road to  square off against  the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
 Last Friday, Harker Heights came up short against Hutto  and fell  9-4.
  Gabrielle Simmons put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up   no  earned run off   three  hits (she also didn't allow any  walks). Simmons was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 Simmons wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Leilani Leon-Guerrero, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Harker Heights  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hutto struck out six times.
 Meanwhile, Copperas Cove pushed their score all the way to 11 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Weiss by a score of  12-11. Copperas Cove has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Harker Heights has  not been sharp recently as the team has  lost six of their last seven games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 11-18 record  this season. As for Copperas Cove, their record now sits at 13-6-2.
 Harker Heights might still be hurting after the  15-2 defeat they got from Copperas Cove  when the teams last played  back in March. Can Harker Heights avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
