Soccer Recap: Monroe Area Takes a Loss

Monroe Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Walnut Grove Warriors, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Monroe Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 304th, while Walnut Grove are ranked 101st).

Monroe Area's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Walnut Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Monroe Area and Walnut Grove will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Purple Hurricanes see the pitch they'll take on North Hall at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Walnut Grove, their break will end when they face North Oconee at 5:30 p.m. on the 15th.
