Baseball Recap: Hingham Comes Up Short

Hingham was the 5-2 winner over Duxbury when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Harbormen fell just short of the Dragons by a score of 5-4 on Wednesday. The Harbormen's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Hingham saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Volpe, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Volpe is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Colman Donohue, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Hingham's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Duxbury, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Hingham will be playing in front of their home fans against Plymouth South at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Duxbury, they will head out on the road to take on Quincy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
