Basketball Game Preview: Bellaire Big Reds vs. Shadyside Tigers

Bellaire is 2-8 against Shadyside since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bellaire Big Reds will venture away from home to take on the Shadyside Tigers at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Bellaire's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

Bellaire saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Indian Creek by a score of 56-48.

Bellaire found their leader in sophomore Raekwon Pettigrew, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points and five steals. Pettigrew's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Jewell, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points.

Meanwhile, Shadyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barnesville.

The win got Bellaire back to even at 8-8. As for Shadyside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.

Everything came up roses for Bellaire against Shadyside when the teams last played on January 11th, as the team secured a 76-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bellaire since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
