Basketball Preview: Bellaire Big Reds vs. Shadyside Tigers

Bellaire found their leader in sophomore Raekwon Pettigrew, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points and five steals. Pettigrew's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Jewell, who went 6 of 10 en route to 13 points.
Meanwhile, Shadyside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barnesville.
The win got Bellaire back to even at 8-8. As for Shadyside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Everything came up roses for Bellaire against Shadyside when the teams last played on January 11th, as the team secured a 76-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bellaire since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
