Softball Recap: Merced Makes It Seven in a Row on the Road

Merced entered their tilt with Buhach Colony on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Thunder get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Bears have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Annalise Ramirez's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Evannie Valdovinos was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maisen Priddell, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Merced hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buhach Colony struck out nine times.

Merced's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Buhach Colony, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Merced will welcome El Capitan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears are facing the Gauchos at the right time seeing as the Gauchos are stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Buhach Colony, they will be playing at home against Atwater at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
