Volleyball Recap: Poway's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carlsbad, Poway was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Rancho Bernardo Broncos 3-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 25, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Poway was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 22-25, 20-25, 25-19, 15-7.

Among those leading the charge was Grant Rodriguez, who had six digs and two aces. Those six digs gave him a new career-high.

Poway's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 18-11. As for Rancho Bernardo, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poway will venture away from home to take on Westview at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rancho Bernardo, they will head out to square off against Escondido at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
