Volleyball Recap: Smith Center Redmen vs. Great Bend Panthers
Smith Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Great Bend Panthers. The Redmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-6.
Great Bend can attribute much of their success to Ava Kaiser, who had 11 digs. Kaiser is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Smith Center's loss dropped their record down to 9-23. As for Great Bend, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-2.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Phillipsburg the next time they take the court. Great Bend will head out to face Phillipsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Smith Center will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
