Basketball Recap: Rock Academy Drops Season-High Score on Classical Academy

Rock Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 57-48 to the Classical Academy Caimans. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Rock Academy lost, don't look at James Whitley. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards. The contest was Whitley's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Roland Balderramos, who posted 12 points and four steals.

Classical Academy found their leader in freshman Zachary Meister, who went 8 of 9 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Meister. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan French, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points.

Rock Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Classical Academy, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Academy will venture away from home to face off against Escondido at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Classical Academy, they will head out to square off against Fallbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
