Volleyball Recap: Bancroft-Rosalie Takes a Loss

Bancroft-Rosalie was the 2-0 winner over Plainview when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Pirates on Saturday. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Bancroft-Rosalie was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14.

Their offense was headlined by Bailey Murphy and Jaylynn James, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Callie Kai and her eight assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Plainview found their leader in freshman Pressley Alexander, who had seven digs and two aces. Alexander is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Bancroft-Rosalie's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Plainview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Bancroft-Rosalie has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Randolph on the 11th. As for Plainview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Stanton on the 11th.
