Baseball Game Preview: Triumph Charter Jaguars vs. Arleta Mustangs

The Triumph Charter Jaguars will square off against the Arleta Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Arleta took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Triumph Charter, who comes in off a win.

Triumph Charter will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Smidt Tech on Thursday. Triumph Charter was the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over Smidt Tech. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Grey Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

Javier Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Elijah Garcia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Gutierrez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Arleta had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Chavez by a score of 1-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
