Soccer Recap: Matanzas Takes a Loss

Matanzas and Flagler Palm Coast combined for 19 shots on goal on Tuesday, which explains the impressive five total goals scored. The Matanzas Pirates might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs an easy 4-1 victory. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 8-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Their goal came courtesy of Kaylin Henthorn, who's now up to nine this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Matanzas and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Flagler Palm Coast, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4-1.

Matanzas has already played their next match, a 7-0 victory against Crescent City on the 19th. As for Flagler Palm Coast, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 2-2 draw against Spruce Creek on the 20th.
